Organic search – a process by which search engines find web pages that are particularly relevant to a keyword search. The search engines find and rank pages based on proprietary (and changing) algorithms that include presence of keywords and popularity of the page. When a computer user searches for a particular keyword, the results will show an organic list ranked and listed separately from a paid list. Marketers use “Search Engine Optimization” to achieve the highest possible organic rank for their pages.  Also called “natural” search.
