Marketing's Magic Formula



This tool can be used to project what effect a change in any of three marketing factors will have on your revenue potential. These factors are 1) traffic to your website or inbound leads, 2) conversion rate and 3) customer value.

Begin by inputting your current data. The results will tell you whether or not your marketing is on track to help you meet your revenue goals. By changing any of the variables, you can see what will happen if you increase your traffic, improve your closing ratio, or increase your customer value.

Preliminary Questions:

How many unique visitors did you have to your site last month?

This number is available from your web stats or web analytics program. If you do not know the number of unique visitors and/or you are a non-ecommerce site, you can enter the number of inbound inquiries instead

How many people contacted you via your website, email or telephone last month?


How many new customers did you get last month?


What was your revenue between 4/1/2007 and 3/31/2008?


How many customers purchased from you between 4/1/2007 and 3/31/2008?
